Digital Electronics builds on the knowledge of logic
gates covered in Electronic Circuits and Components, and takes
you through the subject of digital electronics up to the operation and architecture of
microprocessors. The virtual laboratories allow users to operate many circuits on-screen.
Fundamentals
Fundamentals introduces the basics of digital electronics, including the binary and
hexadecimal numbering systems, ASCII, basic logic gates and their operation, monostable
action and circuits, and bistables (including JK and D-type flip-flops).
Combinational Logic
Multiple gate circuits, equivalent logic functions, and specialized logic functions such
as majority vote, parity checker, scrambler, half and full adders. Includes fully
interactive virtual laboratories for all circuits.
Sequential Logic
Introduces sequential logic, including clocks and clock circuitry, counters, binary coded
decimal, and shift registers.
Digital Systems
A/D and D/A converters and their parameters, traffic light controllers, memories, and
microprocessors (architecture, bus systems, and their arithmetic logic unit).
Assessment
The Institutional versions
now also include several types of assessment for supervisors, including worksheets, multiple choice tests, fault finding exercises and
examination questions. |
